Last night was a long night.
Elise didn’t sleep much. When she did sleep it was in my arms. She spent most of the night trying to kick off the glowing oxygen/heart monitor.
This morning she was feeling so good that she was grabbing her toes and even rolling over in the crib. She was happy and playing and talking up a storm. I think she pushed herself a bit hard because after playing she started to hurt again.
Around 7:30 a doctor came in along with the Resident that has been with Elise through the whole process. This is the same Resident that played peek-a-boo with her just before she went under and the same Resident that has been checking in twice a day ever since. The doc we didn’t know removed the dressings!
Elise looks so different. I can’t get over it. I can’t get over that only two days ago we handed Elise over to the anesthesia team. She is such a champ and is so strong.
It took me an hour to write this post because of all the coming and going. Our room is a hoping place. Dr. Clay, his nurse and the Resident just came in and said that she is looking great. We are cleared to leave tomorrow morning!
