I walked her into her classroom this morning and unpacked her swim bag, water bottle, snack and lunch box. I made sure she went potty and then asked for a hug. She pried herself away from the playdough table long enough to give me a quick squeeze and then said, “By Mom. I don’t need you any more.”
I made it back to my empty minivan before I started to cry.
Elise was just over a month old when Michael started preschool. It seems like a lifetime ago and I guess it is in away. She has grown up watching her brothers be dropped off at Preschool and today was her turn.
She couldn’t have been more excited.
I love you baby girl. You are my big girl now.
