Patrick has grown at least 4 inches since last winter. He has grown right out of the hand me down snow pants that Michael wore at his age.
Michael lost the outer shell of his nice Columbia winter coat. He got a new winter coat to replace his new-last-year-but-still-fit-him coat.
Because Patrick grew out of his snow pants at the same time Michael needed a new coat, Michael got new snow pants too. Patrick is now wearing Michael’s new-last-year snow pants and Michael’s new-3-years-ago coat.
At least they match.
No wonder Patrick, the boy who cherishes his cowboy boots and loved soccer for the uniform (and treats) always has a major chip on his shoulder!
This morning Patrick came into my bathroom while I was getting ready and this conversation transpired:
Patrick, “Mom, my head hurts.”
Me, “Did you bump it?”
Me, “Did you run into something?”
Me, “What happened?”
Patrick, “Michael did it.”
Me, “Did Michael hit you?”
Me, “Did Michael throw something at you?”
Me, “Well what happened then?”
Patrick, “Michael was talking at me too much.”
Michael this morning as I walk down stairs, “Mom, I was throwing things at Patrick’s head and it didn’t hurt him!”
Patrick, “Yeah! My new helmet works!”
A scene from this morning.
The boys were playing Mighty Machines in the front yard while waiting for the bus.
Michael, “Patrick, do exactly what I say.”
Patrick, “Okay Michael!”
Beth. I am so sorry.
